BOF106 - Automation of Lotus Notes / Domino processes
Everyone is aware of the typical problems faced by administrators who have to perform all the administration processes. There are numerous help requests from users who have forgotten their passwords, users who require a new database for a project and users who need to change their names. The admins’ duties also include setting up email accounts for every new employee, implementing a new server and migrating Lotus Notes Users etc. Admins are busy all day with those requests. The delegation to the helpdesk is difficult because of the high manual complexity and required high access level. We will discuss how one can automate processes which previously had to be performed manually. We will explain how the requests can be delegated to the helpdesk and even to users themselves, and how a kind of self-service for employees can be created. This automation saves time and effort as well as minimizes mistakes and possible misunderstandings so that users and admins can work more efficiently.
